Overview
The Main Square is one of Rincón de Romos’ most emblematic public spaces and a key hub for social, cultural, and historical interaction within the municipality. The square is notable for its green spaces, gardens, benches, and traditional bandstand—elements that are integral to the community’s urban identity and provide a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
The site is surrounded by some of the municipality’s most important buildings, such as the Sanctuary of the Señor de las Angustias and the House of Culture, making the square the historic and tourist heart of Rincón de Romos. Furthermore, the surrounding area hosts cultural activities, civic events, family gatherings, and traditional celebrations throughout the year.
Currently, the Main Square is one of the municipality’s most visited sites, thanks to its historical value, traditional atmosphere, and importance as a community gathering place. Its gardens, architecture, and public spaces preserve much of the traditional character of northern Aguascalientes.

The history of the Main Square is closely linked to the historical and urban development of Rincón de Romos. Additionally, the site preserves a stele commemorating the passage of Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla through the region—an element that reinforces its historical significance within the municipality.
