Historia

The Museum of Traditional Mexican Toys was founded on November 6, 1998, with the aim of preserving and promoting traditional Mexican toys, which are considered an important part of the country’s cultural heritage. From its inception, the museum emerged as a community project dedicated to rescuing artisanal techniques and the memories of generations who grew up playing with handmade toys.

Over the years, the museum has strengthened its cultural mission through workshops, guided tours, and educational activities focused on keeping Mexican folk toy traditions alive. Its three permanent galleries offer insight into the evolution of these traditional toys and showcase the work of artisans who continue to create unique pieces using traditional methods. Today, the museum is considered one of Aguascalientes’ most significant cultural venues dedicated to preserving childhood and Mexican identity.
