History

The history of the Ruins of the Former San Blas Hacienda dates back to the colonial period, when haciendas played a fundamental role in the region’s economic development. San Blas Hacienda operated for many years as an important agricultural and livestock center, taking advantage of the fertile lands and rural activity of northern Aguascalientes.

During the 19th and early 20th centuries, the hacienda had a major influence on the economy and social organization of nearby communities. Its facilities included work areas, corrals, warehouses, and spaces dedicated to the agricultural and livestock activities typical of Mexican haciendas. Over time, due to social and economic changes, the property declined in activity and many of its structures were abandoned.
