History
The Descubre Museum—also known as the Descubre Interactive Science and Technology Center—was established to promote scientific and technological education in Aguascalientes through interactive experiences. Its origins date back to the 1990s, when the state government launched innovative educational projects designed to bring science closer to children and young people in a dynamic and accessible way. From the outset, its primary objective was to foster curiosity and hands-on learning.
The museum was officially inaugurated in 1996 as part of the Institute for the Development of the Knowledge Society of the State of Aguascalientes (IDSCEA). From its early years, it was designed as a modern space featuring interactive galleries, scientific exhibits, and areas dedicated to technology, robotics, and the environment. Its spiral-shaped architecture symbolizes the journey of knowledge.
Con el paso del tiempo, el Museo Descubre ha crecido y se ha modernizado, incorporando nuevas tecnologías como el domo IMAX, planetario y salas 4D. Actualmente es uno de los centros educativos y turísticos más importantes del estado, consolidándose como un lugar clave para la divulgación científica en México.
