The museum is situated at the former San Blas Hacienda in the community of Pabellón de Hidalgo and is part of the historic Hidalgo Route.

This site houses exhibition rooms dedicated to the insurgent movement, as well as historical objects, photographs, documents, and tools related to daily life on the former hacienda. Furthermore, the site holds significant architectural and historical value, as key events involving Miguel Hidalgo and other insurgent leaders took place here.

Currently, the museum is one of the main cultural and tourist attractions in northern Aguascalientes. Historia

The history of the Casa de Hidalgo Site Museum is closely linked to the Mexican War of Independence. Following the insurgent defeat at the Battle of Puente de Calderón in 1811, Miguel Hidalgo and other movement leaders arrived at the San Blas Hacienda, where significant decisions regarding the reorganization of the insurgent army were made.

The hacienda, originally built in the 17th century, operated for many years as an agricultural and livestock center. Over time, the property gained significant historical importance due to events that took place during the War of Independence, leading to its conversion into a museum to preserve the site’s historical legacy. The museum officially opened its doors in 1964 and was subsequently renovated during the celebrations marking the Bicentennial of Independence.

The site is currently part of Mexico’s historical and cultural heritage, and is even recognized as part of the *Camino Real de Tierra Adentro*, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. The museum continues to promote national history through exhibitions, tours, and cultural activities aimed at visitors and students.
